Vlad III also known as Vlad Tepes, Vlad the impaler and The count Dracula was the prince of Wallachia, from 1431 to 1437. Vlad III protected his lands agenst the mighty Ottoman Empire. His father Vlad II Dracul, was a member of the Order of the Dragon, which was an organisation founded to protect Christianity, in Eastern Europe.Vlad II is considered as a hero in Romania.
Vlad III was famous also from his cruelty and man slaughter, he got his name of Vlad the impaler from his habits of impaling his enemies, leaving massive territories full of brutally impaled corpses.
There were stories about him being blood sucking vampire. These rumors tell that Vald III used to invite women to his house and sucked their blood.
